There are two types of reports you can run in the Reports Tab;
Product reports and Customer reports.
Product Sales allows you to generate a report based on the search of 4 product attributes:
Product name: tshirt_red (this is the product name saved in Spirit at the time the product is created)
Product id: tshirt006 (your SKU#)
Product title: Red 100% Organic Cotton T-Shirt (The name displayed to the customer)
Product key: 53 (this is the unique incremental Spirit # assigned when a product is created)
1. In the Reports tab, click on “product sales”
2. Select one of the four search on attributes as described above like, Product title.
3. Enter the name of the product as it appears to the customer “Red 100% Organic Cotton T-Shirt”
4. Enter a date range or leave blank.
5. Click on “create report” button.
Customer Sales allows you to generate a report based on the search of 3 pieces of criteria. I have used my profile as the example:
Email address: bierwag@e-techsolutions.com
Attributes: 85715 (this can be any attribute associated with a customer profile: street, city, state, zip, phone #, last name, etc.)
Customer Key: 26 (my customer number in Spirit is #26 - this number is a unique, incremental, Spirit assigned number)
1. In the Reports tab, click on “customer sales”
2. Select one of the three search on attributes as described above like, zip code.
3. Enter the zip code (or other attribute data).
4. Enter a date range or leave blank.
5. Click on the, “create report” button.
Once results appear, you can click on any individual order to view it. If you highlight the entire results listing, and “copy”, you can “paste” it into an Excel spreadsheet. The formatting will retain the proper columns.

We pushed up some new features for Recordit. First, we added several new configurable options that can now be set in your web form. These include:
We also added the ability to insert download links for uploaded files into response emails and pages. With this feature you can easily use Recordit to send and share large files with colleagues, clients and friends.
Downloads are served directly from Amazon’s S3 service and you can control how long links are active (choose from 1hr to 1day, 1 month etc.)

Spirit 3.4 now has a shiny new Reports tab! Under this new tab you will find links to generate reports of ’sales by product’ and ’sales by customer’. Each report is date driven (leave blank to get all data) and allows you to search by product or customer. Each report provides summary sales information and expandable details with links into customer, product, and sales information.

We have added the handiest of buttons to the bottom of the Customer screen in Spirit, labeled ‘export’. This little button is so useful, it’s hard to believe it wasn’t their earlier. It is now a snap to export some or all of your customer data to an Excel sheet. Simply perform a typical query (or leave search form blank to get everything) and choose the columns you would like… and presto, your customer data is at your finger tips. Need to update your mailing program, just choose first name, last name, and email address and click “export”.
No fuss, simple to use and quick. Happy exporting!

If you are like most Americans, you have an old cell phone or two hanging around. Please don’t throw that old cell phone away, no matter how old it is. Like many other modern electronic devices, phones contain circuits boards, batteries and LCD that each contain a number of harmful materials.
When phones are dumped in landfills, these elements eventually break down and leech out into the environment. Lead, Cadmium and Mercury pollution could potentially cause deadly side effects and are the primary reason why states like California have made cell phone recycling mandatory for any retailers that sell mobile phones. Sadly, the heaps of obsolete computer equipment have a greater negative impact on the environment than phones, thus my previous blog topic of recycling old CPUs and monitors.
Not sure what to do with an old cell phone? At the very least, drop it off at your carrier. There are many places to donate your old phones… here are a few:

Just wanted to let everyone know that we upgraded our WYSIWYG (what you see is what you get) rich text editor. We are fans of the open source FCK-editor project and use their rich text editor in Spirit and Recordit. Previously, we were using version 2.4.3 which did not play well with Safari and had some other case specific problems for some of our users.
We have upgraded the editor to the latest version 2.6.0 which does play well with Safari. We have also reconfigured how it generates HTML. It will no longer wrap text in <p> tags and inserts <br /> tags instead of empty <p> tags for break-returns. This should help out folks that were running into problems between their CSS and the HTML made by the editor. Should make life just a little bit better.
